Melancholy Morning
A sparrow calls
Bluebirds sing
Decamped to avoid
The telephone’s ring
Bluebirds sing
Decamped to avoid
The telephone’s ring
Backbreaking work
Soaked in sweat
I haven't managed
To forget you yet
Calloused fingers
Cracking skin
The absence of you
Burns like sin
The lightening sky
As the world awakes
Carrying on seems a burden
I just cannot undertake
Dew-dusted grass
Morning mist low and thick
Your voice calls my name
My mind plays cruel tricks
Rich heady scents
In this rose garden today
I'd do anything at all
For another chance to say
I love you
