The Were-Beast

Heavy metal / power metal lyrics in the vein of Fates Warning (Night on Bröcken) and Omen (Battle Cry). Note that words fully in capital letters are meant to be screamed out and that an em dash (—) signifies a slight pause in the vocals.

In sacred texts twas not foretold
That he'd arrive adorned in gold
Through years gone by we hoped and prayed
No blood or tears shall spill today

When the Were-Beast arrives— they cried!
No one here will be left alive
So now we must cut off the rest
And let them be— put to the test

The only clue left came with a price
A newly born child slain with a knife
With bloodstained corners, a note was there left
Its message echoed on through our hearts

RUN!

But now the time has come
And though you're not the only one
Few remain and less still fight
So now jump up and run into the night

The gold-laden beast gallops this way
He will not rest til he's had his way
And now evermore forward— young warrior run
Or he'll run his claws through you— done and done

So RUN— carry forward
RUN— do not wander
RUN— stop too long and you'll be dead
RUN— fall down once and the river runs red

You'll meet face to face
Get ready now— be on your ace
He's hungry and waiting and wanting to fight
Look out— he's there on your right!
